It is with deepest regrets that we inform you of the passing of MSgt. Wyman N. Bailey, 59, of Federalsburg, MD. He died suddenly Monday, March 22, 2010 at John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD.

Born on August 20, 1950 in Newport, Rhode Island, he grew up in Rhode Island and enlisted in the Marines during Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, he re-enlisted in the U.S. Army. MSgt. Bailey had military service overseas in Europe as an active duty service member, earning an Overseas Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Basic Recruiter Badge, and Vietnam Campaign Medal, with 3 tours in Vietnam during his military career. After retiring from the Army at Ft. Meade, MD in 1986, at the rank of Master Sergeant (E8), he began work for the Department of Defense as an Archives Specialist, until retiring in 2009.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #196, VFW Post #160 where he was a past commander, and currently VFW Post #7464 where he was a past chaplain. He enjoyed karaoke and cooking. He was a staunch supporter of the PGR and will be greatly missed.

The Patriot Guard has been requested to stand in honor of MSgt. Bailey at a Memorial Service to be held on 09 APR 2010 from 1600-1800 hours at the Fellows, Helfenbein, and Newnam Funeral Home, Chester, MD.  This will be a flag line mission only as interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on a later date.  We will update mission information for interment when available.

The long range forecast is for sunny and 65. Please dress appropriately. Remember, we will be close to the water so temps will drop with sunset this time of year. Be hydrated and bring your 3x5 flags for the flag line. There will be no escort after the service. ANC escort will be pending assignment date.

As usual, bikes or cages are welcomed, as we show our respect for this great American patriot, who was called away from us too soon.
