SHORT NOTICE - William W. Curtiss, 76, USN, DC Fireman, Rockville, MD 28 OCT 09

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of a true American Hero.  Mr. William Curtiss passed away on Friday, October 23.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and a retired District of Columbia Fireman, having won the Department's Gold Medal for Valor. His family has asked the PGR to join them in honoring this Hero.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 28th at 10:00AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church,.  The funeral mass will be approximately 45 minutes to an hour long.  The burial will take place at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.

9:00am  9:15am – Rally at the church parking lot on the Church Street side of the lot.

9:30  - Set flag line
11:00 (Approximate time) –Join procession to Gate of Heaven Cemetery
13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD  20906
11:15 (Approximate time) – Render honors during graveside service.

The weather for Wednesday morning it expected to be in the mid 60s with occasional rain and drizzle, so dress accordingly.  Bikes and cages are both welcome.   Don't forget your 3x5 flags and bottled water. 

Please come out and show this family the Patriot Guard Riders care.  As evidenced by the award of the Gold Medal for Valor, Firefighter Curtiss was a true American Hero.
