William A. Jewell, 95, USA Vet, Cumberland, 18 Feb 2014

    The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited by the family of William A. Jewell, 95, USA WW2 Veteran to stand a flagline to honor and show our respect for this hero. Mr. Jewell enlisted in the Army at age 22 in 1941 and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. He was awrded a Bronze Star for his actions there. After Honorable Discharge he joined the Ridgely, WV. VFW Post 6452 and served as Quartermaster for 46 years were he was reaponsible for the flag displays along the "Blue Bridge" leading into Cumberland, MD. on veteran holidays. He was also responsible for a monument in Ridgely, WV. to honor all veterans there who made the supreme sacrifice for their country. He will be greatly missed by his many family and friends.
    Services will be held in Ridgely, WV. at 11:00am and process to cemetery following. This will be a flagline only mission at the cemetery.
 
Rally: at the cemetery, 11:15-11:30 am, service to begin at approx. 12:00pm.

Weather: Forecasted to be cloudy with snow early in the AM. Partly cloudy 39 deg. by 11:00 am. Dress appropriately and bring 3x5 flag for the flagline. This is a flagline only mission. Cage is reccomended due to road conditions. Above all, be safe.
