Welcome Home-LCpl Justin Are, BWI, 18 Dec

National Mission Thread

LCpl Are has just completed a tour to Afghanistan from May to November 2009.  He returned back to his station in Hawaii, but is now getting his time off to see his family.  His mother has invited the Patriot Guard to help welcome him home to Maryland.

Ride Captain:  Mark Krause, This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Rally Time:  0900 hrs - 0920 hrs

Rally Point:  Southwest Park & Ride lot, located at Rolling Road and I-195 in Catonsville.
Map: http://tinyurl.com/yc2uzc7
(From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695 south toward Glen Burnie) take Exit 12 (Rt.372-Wilkens Ave). Turn left onto Wilkens Ave. and proceed west. Turn left onto Rolling Rd. Proceed south to the Park & Ride lot on the left.) (From I-95, take the exit for I-195 toward Catonsville/Route 166 (Rolling Road).  Follow the signs straight ahead to the Park & Ride.)

We will be Kickstands Up at 0920 hrs for the short trip to the airport.  There are no amenities at this location so be gassed up and ready to roll upon arrival.  We will be parking in the hourly garage so remember to bring money for parking (BWI cancelled the 1st hour free parking).  It is going to be quite chilly Friday morning so please dress appropriately for the weather.  Don't let the cold stop you, cages may be the best mode of transport as the parking garage barriers always seem to malfunction on at least one bike.

Bring your handheld 3'x5' US Flags.  We will be forming a flag line at the concourse exit point for LCpl Are's arrival.  As he transits we will get a chance to cheer and clap, thank him for his service to our Nation and then melt away so he can enjoy Christmas with his family.  We expect him in the arrival area at approximately 1030 hrs in the Delta concourse and mission completion should be NLT 1045 hrs.  For those who have the day off, or work close to BWI this will be a great opportunity to come out and show your support.  If you can't make the Rally point, please join us on the concourse.
