This is the final Itinerary for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor SGT Jameel T. Freeman, who gave all on 11 Aug 2011 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan.

Rally Location:  Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, 961 Johnsville Road, Sykesville, MD 21784.
Rally Time:  1000-1015 hrs, briefing 1020 hrs.

We will place our flag lines for the arrival of the family and hearse from the funeral home, and for the services.  After the services we will join the procession to the Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery where we will reform our flag lines as a backdrop to the interment with full military honors.

Weather on Thursday should be mostly sunny with a high of 84 degrees.  Dress appropriately for the weather, hydrate, and bring 3x5 Flags.  Cage or bike.

If you cannot make this mission, please go to the National thread and leave your condolences for the family.  We are sorry for the very short notice, but just received the invitation and final services information.  Please make every effort to come out and honor SGT Freeman's sacrifice.

Please remember that our mission is to respect and honor this fallen soldier and his family.  Stand tall and proud as we salute this young hero and his family for their great sacrifice!!!

We have just now received word that services have been scheduled and the PGR has been invited to show our Respects.  Mission planning is underway and Rally information will be posted by the Ride Captain as soon as possible.  Services will be in Sykesville, MD on Thurs, 1 Sep 2011.

DoD Identifies Army Casualties

The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of five soldiers who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.  They died Aug. 11 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near their vehicle.  They were assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y. 
            Killed were: 
                        Sgt. Edward J. Frank II, 26, of Yonkers, N.Y. 
                        Spc. Jameel T. Freeman, 26, of Baltimore, Md. 
                        Spc. Patrick L. Lay II, 21, of Fletcher, N.C. 
                        Spc. Jordan M. Morris, 23, of Stillwater, Okla. 
                        Pfc. Rueben J. Lopez, 27, of Williams, Calif. 

  UPDATE:  Aug. 15, 2011 -- Spc. Freeman was posthumously promoted to sergeant.

Contact has been made with the local CAO.  SPC Freeman's widow is in NY and funeral arrangements have not yet been made.  We are expecting contact from the NY CAO to ascertain the family wishes.
