Clarence Odell "Clancy" Lyall, 86, MSgt WWII veteran, US Army 101st Airbn, 2nd Bn, 506th PIR, Easy Co.
 
"Clancy" Lyall of Lexington Park, Md was a member of the actual "Band of Brothers" of WWII fame enlisting in US Army in 1942 and participating 4 combat jumps including the jump into Normandy on D-Day and remaining with the 101st ABN until 1945. He re-enlisted in 1950 and remained in the Army until he retired. He retired at the rank of Master Sergeant and received numerous awards and decorations . He was active in local veterans activities and many civic affairs. A true American hero, he is survived by his wife, 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.    
 
The Patriot Guard has been invited by the family to escort this hero to his final resting place in St. Mary's County on Saturday, 24 March 2012

This mission will consist of an escort to the Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Great Mills, Md. (approx. 12 mi.) and a flag line at the cemetery. Please bring 3x5 flags for the flag line. Weather is forecasted to be a 60% chance of thundershowers with temps 54/65 deg. As always, cages are welcome.
