This is the final Itinerary for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor LT (SEAL) Brendan J. Looney, USN, 29, Silver Spring, MD, who gave all on September 21, 2010. It is a go; all contacts have been made. Services at Arlington National Cemetery are on Monday, October 4, 2010, at approximately 1300 hrs.

LT (SEAL) Looney was a 2004 graduate from the US Naval Academy.  While he began his career in the Intelligence Community, he requested transfer to the Navy SEALs in 2006.  He was the Honorman for his SEAL Qualification Training in 2008.  This was his fourth deployment and third as a SEAL.  He was the big brother in a large family.  Our most heartfelt condolences to his family and his SEAL comrades.

This will be a two-part mission.

Sunday, October 3, 2010 – Calling hours – 1400 to 1700

Part II

Monday, October 4, 2010 – Procession to Church/ANC

0730 – early staging (MOTORCYCLES ONLY)*

* Due to the time of day (rush hour) and limited LEO support, vehicles will be limited to motorcycles and the funeral coach ONLY.  You MUST attend the briefing to participate in this procession.  Be sure you are on time.  DO NOT attempt to join the procession once the first vehicle has started to move.  Safety is a major concern.  If you cannot ride in a tight group in heavy traffic, please go directly to the church (below). 3 x 5 hand-held flags will not be needed at the funeral home.  If you have 3 x 5 flags mounted on your motorcycle, you must test your mount prior to arriving at the funeral home.  All rigs will be inspected prior to departure.

** Parking may be limited.  Choose parking spaces farther away to allow family and guests to park closer to the church.  Please bring 3 x 5 hand-held flags for the flag line at the church.  3 x 5 hand-held flags will not be needed for the services at ANC.

Funeral services will be followed by procession to ANC for Military Honors and interment at 1300 hrs.  The RC will brief all Riders on what to expect for the procession.

Remember that our mission is to respect and honor this fallen sailor and his family. Stand tall and proud as we salute this hero and his family for their great sacrifice!!!
