LCpl Thomas Caleb Getscher
Leonardtown, MD
7 June 2016
The Patriot Guard Riders are honored to have been invited once again to establish a flag line to honor LCpl Thomas Caleb Getscher, USMC and his family, and to escort them to the dedication of their new smart home in Leonardtown, MD.  Our thanks go out to the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation for this wonderful opportunity.
In June 2011, LCpl Getscher (who goes by his middle name Caleb) was severely injured while on foot patrol in Sangin, Afghanistan, when an improvised explosive device detonated.  As a result of that explosion, Caleb lost both legs and his left arm and suffers from severe traumatic brain injury (TBI).
On 7 June 2016, the Patriot Guard will meet the Getscher family at the staging location, and escort them to the actual site of their new home, a distance of approximately four miles.  Once there, a flag line will be established during the dedication of their new smart home.
