Patriot Guard Riders!

Back in March (some of you are still shivering from the frigid temps), we participated in the escort and flagline for a roof-raising ceremony in honor of Adam Kisielewski, a Marine Sgt who suffered severe wounds in Iraq. Homes For Our Troops (HFOT) and its legion of volunteers, having completed the house and landscaping, are staging another ceremony for Adam and his family--to turn over the house keys.
HFOT has requested our support on Saturday morning, July 16. We will again stand a flag line throughout the ceremony that starts at 11:00am. The American Legion Riders (ALR) are coordinating Adam's escort from Thurmont to the new home in Libertytown and welcome our participation.
Mike Buck has secured large flags for the construction volunteers and will coordinate a red, white and blue welcome for the escort. If you are not participating in the escort, but going directly to the homesite, please contact Mike.
Once bikes are parked after the escort, we will assume our flagline positions for the ceremony.

Coincidentally, ALR is holding a camping fundraiser--Thunder in the Mountains--that weekend for its members and guests. The ALR has invited PGR who do not belong to the Legion or ALR to attend as “guests.”  Tickets are $20 in advance which includes “Camping, Food, Beverages, Music and Fun”.  This fundraiser benefits the American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund.  More information on the event and tickets is available in the flyer below.
