HOTH – Escort World War II Veterans , WWII Memorial Washington, DC, 5 APR 14
The Maryland and Virginia Patriot Guard have been invited by DC-Baltimore-Northern VA hub of Honor Flight, Honor Flight Capital Region to provide a motorcycle escort for World War II Veterans from their Armed Forces Retirement Home, to the their WWII Memorial.
It's been said that any nation that forgets its veterans ceases to be a great nation. The WWII memorial says in a very special way that the American people and this nation will never forget our veterans, their families and especially those veterans who gave all their tomorrows. Here is an opportunity to say “Thank You” to some of these brave veterans.
This escort will be traveling 5 miles through downtown Washington DC. Therefore the escort will be LIMITED to bikes and trikes with LARGE US flags (3X5) mounted and unfurled.
If you would like to meet the bus at the memorial, and greet these Heroes with hand-held flags, it will be a memory they will treasure. We should be arriving at the bus unloading area at the memorial at approximately 0915. They will be on the mall from the time we arrive, 0925, until 1530 and is another opportunity to spend some time and say “Thank you”.
