This mission is a GO. All contacts have been completed.
This is the final itinerary for the Patriot Guard mission to honor the life and service of Airman Dan Hartke, veteran of the Air National Guard, who lost his battle with cancer on 09AUG09. Dan's nephew, Matt, is a PGR member, requested our presence, and wrote this about his uncle:
Dan Hartke was for the most part  a waterman, having grown-up in Massachusetts. He joined the Air National Guard in the 50's. Married the love of his life, Sylvia Leggo (1958), whom survives him along with his three children; oldest son, Danny, daughter, Diane & son Christopher. His career turned to electronics, gaining a master electrician's status, in which he served the civil service over 40 years. Most of his spare time, over the years & into retirement was spent teaching his boys to navigate & fish the Chesapeake Bay. This bear of a man had the heart of an Irish warrior & the gentle touch. Over the last few years he had won the fight over pancreatic & colon cancer, yet all the surgeries & hospital time took its toll. He succumbed, to an aggressive mass, Sunday night the 9th of August, 2009.
Our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dan Hartke.  It will be an honor to ride for him.
This is a single stage mission.
