National Condolence Thread

This is the final itinerary for the Patriot Guard Mission to honor CPT Sara M. Knutson-Cullen, USA, 27, Eldersburg, MD, who gave all March 11, 2013, in Kandahar, Afghanistan. It is a go, all contacts have been made.  We were already given the honor to stand at the services in Sykesville and Eldersburg, on March 24 and 25, 2013.  The family has graciously extended that invitation to the services at ANC as CPT Knutson-Cullen makes her final journey to Arlington.  ANC services will be on Monday, April 15, 2013, at approximately 0845 hrs.
CPT Knutson-Cullen, was born May 7, 1985, in Baltimore.  She graduated from Liberty High School in Eldersburg in 2003.  She was very active throughout high school participating in student government, ski club, spanish club, the school play and track. She received an appointment to West Point and graduated with the class of 2007.  After receiving her commission she pursued her career as an aviation officer flying UH60 Black Hawk helicopters.  Of her many awards and decorations, she received posthumously the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
She was married November 17, 2012.

CPT Knutson-Cullen is survived by her husband, her parents, two siblings, a large extended family and many friends.

Military mandated riding gear IS REQUIRED.  You must have:
-       government issued photo i.d. (e.g., drivers license)
-       DOT approved helmet
-       long-sleeve shirt or jacket
-       full-fingered gloves
-       over the ankle boots
-       have reflective gear available (in the event we are asked to wear it)
NOTE:  Conceal/carry permits are NOT recognized on military installations and federal reservations.  Do not bring weapons or hazardous materials to this mission.
Please bring 3 x 5 hand-held flags for the first part of this mission.  We will not need the flags once we enter the grounds of ANC.  If you have flag(s) mounted on your bike (Arlington rally ONLY), make sure your rig has been tested prior to arrival at the United States Marine Corps War Memorial.  All rigs will be inspected prior to departure.  Due to the distance and highway speeds, large flags WILL NOT be flown for the escort from Eldersburg.
The weather forecast for Monday, April 15th is mostly sunny with a low of 48 degrees and high of 75 degrees.  Check the weather prior to your departure and dress appropriately.  Do not let the weather keep you away, you may cage to this mission.
