CPL Kurt Shea, 21, Frederick, 18/19 May

This mission is confirmed.  It is a go.  All contacts have been made.

This is the final itinerary for the Patriot Guard Rider Mission to honor the sacrifice of Cpl Kurt S. Shea, who gave all on 10 May 2010 in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.  Cpl Kurt Shea, a radio operator assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division Forward, died while supporting combat operations.

Cpl Shea grew up wanting to be in the military, and joined the Marine Corps one week after graduating from Frederick High School in 2007.  Kurt loved his job so much, that he was upset when his first overseas assignment was to Japan instead of Iraq or Afghanistan.  He was promoted to corporal in April 2009 and was finally deployed to Afghanistan.  He was to return from his tour in July.

Please join us in honoring this young soldier.
