DOD Identifies Air Force Casualties


 The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of three airmen who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.   They died Jan. 5 in Shir ghazi, Helmand province, Afghanistan, when their vehicle was struck by an improvised explosive device.
            Killed were:
            Senior Airman Bryan R. Bell, 23, of Erie, Pa.  He was assigned to the 2nd Civil Engineer Squadron, Barksdale Air Force Base, La.  For more information media may contact the Air Force 2nd Bomb Wing public affairs office at 318-456-3309.

            Airman 1st Class Matthew R. Seidler, 24, of Westminster, Md.  He was assigned to the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron, Peterson Air Force Base, Colo. 

 

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to honor Airman 1st Class Matthew R. Seidler, 24, of Westminster, Maryland, who paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country in support of Operation Enduing Freedom, while running operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan.
He was assigned to the 21st Civil Engineer Squadron as an EOD specialist based out of Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado.

Escort to Arlington National Cemetery immediately after service.  We will have LEO support enroute to ANC.
Weather forecasted to be 40º with some clouds and a low of 30º the night before.  Please keep an eye on the weather and dress appropriately.
There is gas and fast food near the beltway exit on Reisterstown Rd.  Please make sure you have sufficient fuel.  Escort will be approximately 50-60 miles – depending on route chosen by LEO, and traffic conditions.

Funeral Home is approximately ½ mile north and on the left on Reisterstown Rd. from these locations.  There is also lodging near this location for those coming the night before.
Please bring your 3 X 5 flag, and please make sure that those flying full size flags on their bikes that they are secure.  Ride Captains will check all vehicle mounted flags before departure.
